How to Convert Between CSV, JSON and TSV
- Choose the input format: Tell the converter whether you are pasting CSV, JSON or TSV.
- Paste your data: Drop the content into the input box. JSON should be an array of objects, or a single object.
- Choose the output format: Pick the format you want back.
- Convert and save: Click Convert, then copy the result or download it as a file.
Why Use This Tool?
- Three formats, one tool: Any combination of CSV, JSON and TSV in either direction.
- Runs offline in the tab: Conversion is pure JavaScript, so API responses and database exports never touch a third-party server.
- Quote-aware parsing: Quoted fields containing commas or embedded quotes are handled correctly rather than split naively.
- No size gate: No row limits or paid tiers for larger payloads.
Common Use Cases
- Turn an API response into a spreadsheet-friendly CSV
- Convert a CSV export into JSON for seeding a database or test fixture
- Reshape a TSV pasted out of a spreadsheet into JSON
- Produce a quick CSV for a colleague who does not want raw JSON
- Normalise data between two systems that expect different formats
Good to Know
- JSON input should be a flat array of objects. Deeply nested structures are stringified into a single cell rather than expanded into columns.
- Column order and headers are taken from the keys of the first object in the array.
- Everything is treated as text, so no type coercion is applied to numbers or dates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Select JSON as input and CSV as output, then download the result. The file opens directly in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
No. Parsing and serialising both happen in your browser with JavaScript, so nothing is uploaded or logged.
An array of objects, such as [{"name":"Ada","age":36}]. A single object is also accepted and treated as a one-row table. Keys from the first object become the column headers.
Values containing a comma, a double quote or a line break are wrapped in double quotes and internal quotes are doubled, following the standard CSV convention.
